A secondment is used to describe a work situation where an employee transfers from their establishment to take up a different role for a temporary period.

In MSCA-RISE there are two types of secondments:

• Intra-European secondments involve one academic and one non-academic member of staff from two different countries.
• International secondments are between a beneficiary from a Member State or an Associated Country and a third country partner organization, with no restrictions in terms of sector.
